The Interlearning Company (formerly The Sapio Institute) is a research, information services, and publishing firm. Our mission is to explore the use of online technologies for "open e-learning". Open e-learning is a collective term that refers to endeavors which seek to eliminate regulatory and physical barriers to formal education (as imposed by educational and government institutions), and promote self-directed, independent, flexible learning, online at a distance (e.g., home schooling).
